Horsham 1 finished the season with a 3-1 win over Eastbourne 1.
First game to finish was on board one, where Gavin Lock's opponent failed to turn up, giving him a win by default.
Next, James McGrath played out a solid draw on board four as White against Paul Carpenter.
The final two games were closer.
At one point late on, James Mansson, who was Black against Oliver Froom on board three, was offered a draw, which he declined as Mark Broom, who was White against Rasa Norinkeviciute on board two, seem to be in trouble.
As it turned out, Mark managed to secure a draw by repetition soon after, but by that point, James's opponent had made a fatal error, which he managed to exploit to win.
This left the final result as 3-1 in Horsham's favour.
This concluded a somewhat unsatisfactory season for Horsham 1, where no one seemed to hit top form. The tone was set by the first match, when they only drew with the second team! There were a few high points, such as the win against East Grinstead 1, but plenty of indifferent - or just downright poor - results.
